CNC Ring coilers are available for round, elliptical, and continuous-coil rings. AIM’s unique coiling approach is capable of producing extremely tight diameters and corresponding gap tolerances. Applications include high precision, tight tolerance, and automotive piston rings with shaped material to simple round wire retainer rings.

Piston rings require extremely precise characteristics, including: flatness, dish, helix, gap, and light-tightness. All of these characteristics can be controlled through the PLC.
We build our custom ring coiling systems around our CNC spring coiling machines, which are capable of coiling wire in a variety of sizes. For round wire, our ring coilers can handle wire diamaters from .032″ to .135″. For rectangular wire, minimum demsions are .032″ and maximum dimensions are .250″.
